My cats have a couple carboard boxes for funsies. They run and leap into them, scooting them across the floor. They sit in them and judge me.

And then there's the one in my bedroom that's about six years old, filled with shredded/crumpled newspaper, that Oliver - and only Oliver - sleeps in (with wheezy little snores).

Diana picks up her skin mouse and carries them through the house, crying pathetically. Then she takes it to the dog's water bowl (or the cat's water bowl) and drowns it.

This sounds completely adorable. I feel like my cat is the only cat who doesn't like boxes. Well, she likes chewing them. But she doesn't like closed-in spaces. She's very much a tree dweller. She likes high up. But nothing closed in. So she doesn't do boxes or hide under things (unless they are relatively open). She's more likely to hide up on top of things.

Up top is the norm for most cats. Sadly, I only have a couple of 'up' places here for them - I need more!

Any box or bag they spot, my cats are *in*. Unpacking groceries is a chore, as they try to get into the bags while I'm trying to get things out. I usually end up picking up the (empty) bag and carrying them into the living room (they're cloth reusable bags).

And boxes, of course, are like catnip. They pounce, hide, and claw like demented fiends. Even tiny ones they have no hope of getting into...they try!

That's adorable. Bringing in groceries are a chore for us because Joanna thinks the garage is kitty wonderland. She wants to explore it and the couple time she's stuck past us, she's gone under the car (still open enough for her) and been really difficult to get out. So one of us has to take her down the hall to my room while the others bring in the groceries.

Garages are the unknown. She does it at the front door too, though not quite as much. Shut doors are an affront to her status as kitty queen. She also waits outside the door whenever I'm in the bathroom and looks offended that I didn't let her come in with me.

HA. If i don't shut the door, the cats will push in while i'm in the bathroom, all 'we have you now! you can't move!!'

So fun.

She's been doing that this week. Parents have been out of town, so I've been a softy and let her come in. Mostly she wants to explore. She's fascinated by the sink and the stuff on there. Knocked a bunch of it off, of course.
