I really don't think Hopper's dead, since we didn't see the body. I know there's a good reason why we wouldn't see, but first rule of fiction - especially sci-fi. No body, they're coming back. That tied with the post-credits teaser... yeah.

Though I really liked Hopper in season 1 and 2, I actually found him insufferable this season. Still, hope he comes back, I overall really liked his arc with Eleven.

I didn't like Hopper much this season either.

I don't know if I think he's dead or not. If he's not he's definitely in an extremely unpleasant situation to say the least.
