Anybody here from New York?

I asked this in another group and didn't ever get an answer. Anybody here know something someone from NY - Brooklyn - would say about Bed-Stuy, like an insult? Something maybe not even really true or stereotypical, but they'd say it anyway 'cause...that's what you do. Somebody being talked into moving from Brooklyn to Bed-Stuy and they're objecting.....

I've got a friend in New York, but he's on holidays for a few days--I could probs shoot him an email and see what he says when he gets back Sun/Monday though?
