You dislike the character for the producers choosing to centralize the character's storyline? Can we call that Doylist? Seems a lot of people are Doylist in their dislike of the character, actually.

But boy, am I tired of this community running him down. It just seems so unnecessary.

It says that they don't dislike the character and that their issue is the taking over of everyone's stories. As such, it doesn't really matter where it's coming from, just that it exists at all.
