I felt sorry for Billy too even though I hated Billy. It was obvious before that he had a terrible childhood, and I don't think that excuses everything he did, but his death really redeemed him in my eyes. (I guess I didn't mind so much that he got killed.)

I hope they follow up on the dad too though. He's still Max's step-dad so it's not impossible they will, but I doubt it too.

I wouldn't say his sacrifice was a total redemption but it was really REALLY nice to see that bravery and fighting spirit and /goodness/ still inside of him despite everything. I think that's just as important as a "redemption", honestly.
