And it's creepy and hard to connect to emotionless photorealistic animals.

Not sure if I'm going to see it in the theater. But I will buy the soundtrack. I love Lion King music that much. I plan on owning every version I can get my hands on. I own all the different versions of the original movie plus several different Broadway versions.

I have never had a problem connecting with animals before. I cried when Shadow could not get out of that pit. I was happy when Babe was able to herd the sheep. I cried when Black Beauty and Ginger said goodbye to each other. They didn't even talk!

Like...this is literally just horses. https://youtu.be/cBFrfA6TrB0

Agreed. And CGI animals that look realistic just...look realistic to me. I don't have a problem connecting with them. But I'm a super big animal person. And a super big cat person. And lions are really big cats.

Yeah, but the Lion King remake animals are so cheaply animated that they don't look alive. They look like stop motion animated taxidermied animals. It's super creepy, unless you have no idea what living cats actually look like when they move.

I don't agree. At least not from the trailer. They looked pretty realistic to me.

How so?

https://youtu.be/0UQV89DQTWo
https://youtu.be/1JSw28el5Q4

Both of those look fine. What looks cheap about them? Or like stop motion? Or not like an actual cat?

For reference, these are real lions walking. https://youtu.be/9UtI5qQhanU

They look pretty damn similar to me. Even got the weird bow legs.

Cub Simba's movements, particularly are jerky and stiff. He moves like an old housecat with arthritis. Additionally, half the time the lions move as if they don't have any physical weight to them. Also, every animal in that weird clip of lions walking on concrete that you posted has more facial expression than any of the animals from the live action Lion King trailers. So yes, between the stiffness, the weightlessness and the lack of expression it looks very much like something not alive is being posed and bobbed around to imitate a live thing. Obviously, if you don't see it, you don't see it. I hope you enjoy the movie. Personally, I don't need to spend money to see the Lion King reenacted by dead-eyed zombie animals.

I also read reviews that Donald Glover and Beyoncé are horrible. The mediocre and bad reviews are more than "it's not The Lion King (1994)."
