[Black Mirror, "San Junipero"]

I quite enjoyed it myself, though it's probably not my favourite. But it does have a happier ending than most, which I feel contributes to its popularity

There's a lot of things I liked about it but I wouldn't rank it highly in my personal favourites, which is pretty much sacrilege apparently.

Like I get that people like that it's so much happier for a Black Mirror story but I'll readily admit I'm into Black Mirror for the bleak shit first and foremost.

I didn't know people talked it up that much. I mean I know fans of f/f like it but I didn't know people made such a big deal.

It's not my absolute favorite though I guess it ranks up there.

I'm guessing what makes it unique is its lesbian storyline

I'm guessing what makes it unique is the fact that it's happy.

And that it could have been a straight couple and still been the same story about a new way to experience life after death and the dilemma of whether to choose that experience or not.

In what way is it overrated ? There's a difference between saying : "a lot of people liked this episode but I didn't like it as much" and stating that it's not as good as people think it is like you have an objective measure of what makes a television episode "worthy" of popularity". Boringness is very subjective. Some were entertained by this episode, some weren't. If you prefer bleak Dark Mirror episodes (you have plenty), more power to you. But bleakness and your subjective feeling of boredom are no means to determine the quality of the episode. I'm going to go on a limb there, but I'm sure lots of the praises for this episode comes from having a main w/w couple on a popular sci-fi tv series that pretty much got a true happy ending together. This happening in the Black Mirror universe makes it even sweeter.
