i, for one, don't trust any doctors unless they are also accomplished jugglers.

So you walk into the doctor's office and the doctor has clown makeup on and you're like "yeah, this is fine"?

This reminds me of a review I read a long time ago about Norah Jones's acting in My Blueberry Nights. It was something to the effect of: "Asking a singer to act in your movie because you really like her music is like asking a chef to paint your house because you love their spaghetti. Being good at one thing doesn't mean they'll be any good at something completely different."

Eh. I respect people who dress appropriately for their professional role and generally behave in ways that indicate they have good judgment and common sense.

Sooo... what exactly is the appropriate attire for a cat behaviorist and TV show host?

Man, I love Jackson Galaxy. He's out here being a cat loving weirdo and living his best life and I respect that.

Makes me sad that people don't just look at other people don't their weird-ass self expression stuff and think, rock on. I was so caught up in the euphoria of the infinite diversity of personality and style that for a moment I lived in a world where social acceptability didn't exist, etc etc.

He saved my life and my cat's life. That's all that matters for me. He'll always be amazing in my eyes.

The fact that he flogs essential oils and other woo-woo homeopathic horseshit is reason enough to disregard most of his opinions.

yep came here for this. I don't care if he does understand cat psychology better than your average TV face, he shills essential oils *for pets* I am so out of here.

Except he doesn't, though? He advises them as supplements to actual vet attention, not as substitutions. And things like essential oils CAN help to calm anxious pets if that's the only thing that's wrong with them. From the episodes I've seen he's a big advocate of taking the cat to the vet for a professional opinion if behavior modification alone isn't working.

This. The few episodes I've seen have him being very sensible about vet care and making sure that there are no underlying medical reasons the cat is acting out. I believe there was at least one or two that I saw where that cat genuinely needed psychiatric meds and he advocated and remarked on the difference the care made in the cat's personality/mood.

lol I work with a doctor who has THE worst comb over I've ever seen and sometimes I wonder if I could trust the judgment of a man who thinks that's an acceptable look.

Thank you for this secret. I find him super creepy looking but can't say it out loud without risking my eyes being scratched out because "he's such a genius". I just avoid all things he has to do with and focus on other cat content.
