I have a few unpublished fics saved to my computer for similar reasons. I wanted to write it but never felt like I wanted to share it. There are fics I have shared but for me writing anything, including fanfic, is more for the practice and the love of it so I'm not always in the mood to put it on an archive.

I'm glad you were able to find something useful in the "write it yourself" advice even though yes sometimes it does come across...not particularly well. I do get it because I'm fully on board with encouraging people to try to write something they want to see but I also recognise not everyone has the confidence or the time etc.

Anyway, hope you continue to enjoy your fic writing!
