I am so glad that The Lego Group makes children's video games that have local co-op so little kids can play with siblings and parents. I'm even more grateful that TLG refuses to add online co-op or make them MMO since it would take these games away from the very young children that are the core audience.

Why would it take the games away from very young children??

Lego can't market them to young children or get the necessary ratings in many countries if they include online play.

Yeah, I said nothing about taking away local co-op. Games can have both.

They can. But online play means they can't market to young children or get the necessary ratings in many countries.

But Lego Worlds has online co-op. And there are tons of E rated games with online co-op.

Lego Worlds isn't available in many markets. And yes, E rated games in America can have online co-op. Which doesn't change the fact that many markets don't allow games for young children to include online play. Most of the world is actually against young children participating in online co-op.

I agree, and so many games don't have local these days, and I really would prefer to play multiplayer with my sister, and y'know not a bunch of assholes who try and fight you over mic.
