I really want to do fanart for some of my favourite fanfics, but I'm really bad at finishing what I start, and I find it really easy to do the, 'Oh this is so shit, why bother, it'll never be any good'.

It's fine if you keep it as simple as a sketch with a little color slapped on!

I felt bad about the quality of the art I gave writers but every time they seemed to appreciate receiving them.

Writers will be grateful no matter the quality. As a writer who has had people do art for my fics a couple of times, I can confirm this. It is the thought that counts, and authors will be extremely appreciative.
