Just hanging out. Going to dinner at an Argentinean steak house with my husband this evening. Working tomorrow so won't be drinking too much.

waiting on my stupid father to come pick me up. we're supposed to pick up some windows for my mother in a city 45 minutes away and he was supposed to pick me up early so I could go by the pharmacy and get my heart meds. he is just changing clothes NOW and it is 6:37 so THERE GOES OUR EVENING PLANS IGSS.

I'm just mad at him sorry everyone.

I'd be mad, too.

I'm frustrated because someone isn't getting back to my e-mails about a work thing and I'm going to need to escalate soon and it's annoying.

On the other hand I have trivia tonight so that's always fun.

Absolutely nothing other than work.

Laying awake in bed freaking out. I've got the chance to go travelling for a year but my partner is the best thing to ever happen to me and I'm scared it will end our relationship. But at the same time, I need to see the world, like more than anything. It's rough. Just having a bit of a cry.

If your partner is worth having they'll understand your need for a year of wanderlust!

It's a tough call, nonny. I won't pretend it isn't. But honestly... travel. You want a partner who won't even want to THINK about holding you back or causing you to miss out on amazing opportunities like this. And you want a partner who's interested in committing, even when the going gets tough.

I may have just read the worst column of all time. It's triggery so I won't describe it, but needless to say it was written by a man.

Well, I survived round one with the inspector; he took a bunch of pics and some measurements and is gonna run them by “the chicken guy,” and if the chicken guy says it’s okay, or if stuff needs changing, he’ll call, but there’s also a possibility that chicken guy needs to come in person.

If he does, they’ll come by later this week. Hopefully I’ll know by tomorrow. The inspector did notice the bees, which... sigh. I just got a new job so in a couple months I should be able to hire someone to come take them out of the wall, but unless I tear the whole room down, they’ll probably be back. They always have before. Bees can apparently smell honey and bee homing pheromones right through a wall, and if they smell even a trace of homey hive smell, will chew through walls to set up shop.

2 hours of sleep last night. 2 hearings this morning. Forgot my coffee at home. Second client was a half hour late. Worked on a few cases. Then had to prepare for a speech I was giving tonight. Gave speech. Then had an hour and a half long meeting. My dad made scallops for dinner, though, so that was nice. Now I'm going to sleep. Have another hearing in the morning.

Was supposed to go out for lunch with a friend, but she called and told me that her parents are coming by tomorrow. So instead, she suggested that I go to her house and we could talk while she cleans.
I decided to stay home and clean my own house instead.

A two hour nap in the afternoon and waking up refreshed and ready for a cup of tea.

I like to ride my bike to Starbucks and have some tea.

tea and libraries are pretty awesome

My cat. She makes everything better. Books. Music. Fantasy and scifi tv and movies. Volunteering at the local animal shelter. My Toastmasters group. Coffee. Chocolate.

Everyday, if I can, I will watch the sunset for at least a minute. It makes me feel that every thing will be ok.
