i've had a pet die and it was literally worse than when a relative died. now, i'm not a healthy person, but in my mind it's perfectly normal to care that deeply about a pet.
my cat is my baby and personally i'm very glad to know that i will outlive her, because she wouldn't understand what happened if i died. until then she will live the best life i can offer her :)
