This is makes me think of places like comicon where people spend money to get autographs/take pictures with celebs. I took a picture of an actor a friend of mine adores and I remember standing there feeling awkward, thinking 'in reality, I don't know this man at all'. When it came to taking a pic with Benedict Cumberbatch my friend and I just couldn't justify it, due to the cost involved. We did get an autograph though. He was absolutely lovely but it meant lining up for an hour for two mins interaction with him and I was too nervous and felt awkward. Since then, I've questioned whether I'd pay money to meet celebs again (though if it was one of my faves, say Sebastian Stan... maybe...)

I feel you. I think it's really easy for people to confuse something that is personalized, with something that is personal... too easy, a lot of the time
