In that case I do agree. Kinda like how a beta, or comments on a fic shouldn't interfere with the decisions an author makes creatively. Just so long as nobody expects the author to change everything to suit their tastes, it sucks when some people don't know or care what or where the line is, and that sometimes authors feels compelled to shift things because of that. Giving suggestion, and assuring someone that if they decide to go a certain way they would be supported by their viewers, is a good thing absolutely.

I do tend to cringe a little bit when people get really 'fandomy' out of a fandom setting, but I'll admit it's mostly because of those Voltron type fans. I forget sometimes it can be done tactfully. Unfortunately I think it's rare that it is done respectfully.
