ask me if I want to join them in a social thing even though they know I don't want to go - the actual conversation has been "if you already know I'll say no, why are you asking?" "I'm just being polite!" It's not polite. Granted, it's very little effort on my part to receive this query and turn it down but it's fucking annoying every damn time. It happens more frequently than I care to admit.
