Just re-release the original. Everything in it is relevant including the rant about the people of the defendant.

The original is old enough to be public domain, so "re-release" isn't much possible

Logistically, not really... theaters aren't going to market and promote a public domain movie anyone can watch, there's no money in it for them. No incentive

Maybe "easier" in the sense that it's cheaper to get a copy and show it without paying anyone any royalties, but that's not the only concern theaters have. They want to make money off the movies they show. That's hard to do when people can just...

i think a black female judge is usually cited as the most effective change (at least one televised adaptation has done this)

Sure, because no movies are ever released that fail the Bechdel test anymore. All the issues about sexism in film casting are resolved.
