Kind of an exaggeration, don't you think? Plenty of brunettes and blondes (or even bald folks!) in there too.

But blond and brunet characters are otherwise plenty though.

So then you're saying the problem isn't that redheaded characters get racebent more often, it's that there's not enough redheads in the first place. Except I don't think that's the problem either, because I'm pretty sure redheads are actually more common in the movies than in real life. So what actually is the problem?

“I'm pretty sure redheads are actually more common in the movies than in real life. So what actually is the problem?”

That applies to black people as well

Maybe if you live in bumfuck nebraska

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Or anywhere in the Western world that isn't the US.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-05 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahah think again...
Signed, a Spanish-German

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
lol okay

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
no, it’s that those other groups aren’t underrepresented so they aren’t losing anything if one of their characters is racebended

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Are redheads underrepresented?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends where you are in the world. Don’t know what the population of redheads is in the US but in Scotland it's 13%. Every tenth person in media about Scotland should be a redhead lol.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
How many mcu superheroes are redheads?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-05 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
How many are Asian? Or Latino? Or hell, blond?

this

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Is there a reason redheaded kids don't deserve someone to look up to in media just like other kids?

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
They do have some representation, though. Jules from Superbad. Wichita / Krista from Zombieland. Olive Penderghast fror Easy A. Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan from The Help. Gwen Stacy from the 2012 Spider-Man. Gwen Stacy from the 2014 Spider-man. Allison Ng from Aloha. The voice of Eep Crood from The Croods.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha Emma Stone haha

And like she isn't blonde or brunette in most of those movies anyway

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think you should be using Allison Ng from Aloha as an example of representation of anyone...

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Girl from Brave.

If you can write a list of examples it says a lot. I think in all representations there should be too many for a dw comment, especially given how much media is thrown out into the world daily.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Here are a lot. And this is just the ones that some rando knows.

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Funny how several of the characters on that list have been racebended, proving op's point

(Anonymous) 2019-08-04 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Question has to be the relative proportion that have been racebended, right, not the absolute number?
