I get annoyed when authors delay their books again and again. No, I don't tell him that. I don't even bitch about it to my fellow fandom friends. I know they don't owe me and that writer's block is a real thing AND that writers have a life, too. (I also avoid following them on social media to avoid all the "So, you have time for 45 NEW side projects, but you need to delay that sequel to a book I loved for half a year AGAIN?")
I know they're unfair thoughts, but I can't stop them and I feel bad about it.

(Actually not talking about GRRM. He's in a whole other ballpark by now and the ending of GoT actually made me not care all that much anymore.)

Honestly, this is why I a) don't really talk too much about something until it's finished, and b) why I am scared of writing series.

Yeah, but if writing is your primary - if not only - job, it's not unreasonable that you would put in some time to write. Saying pro authors shouldn't have to produce output because they have lives is like saying factory workers shouldn't have to go work in factories because they have lives.
