I always thought I wasn't into daddy kink at all. Turns out I am, but only if one of the characters is actually old enough to be the other's father, and the younger character has daddy issues.

Me, Internally: This kink is squicky to me.
New OTP: Can I interest you in a way more extreme version of that kink you don't like?
Me: YES. YES YOU CAN. UNF.

Huh. I can’t stand daddy kink, even though one of my two otps is, (in)famously, old enough to be the other’s father and pretends to have a connection with their dad to get closer to them/young and vulnerable with daddy issues.

In canon, this turns into a massive shitfest where the young character calls their manipulator on their asshole-ry and leaves for good. I like fic that either removes that initial deception, or has both characters come to the understanding that they’re equals despite their differences in age and experience.

Daddy kink doesn't mean they can't be equals though. I only like my OTPs as equals. I just think it's hot when the younger one is kind of sub-y in the bedroom, and calls the older one daddy in a sexual context sometimes.
