I'm also not the secret maker, but it also seems unintentional to me? Just pictures off the original and remake. It's just that some commenters took it in bad faith. Which, tbh, could easily have been done just from the comment alone.

Both statements seem pretty innocuous to me on their own, but coupled with the pic in the secret, the commenters on the secret seemed to have read a certain connotation into it.

The original comment directly referenced those two movies. It's not like the secret maker took it out of context. If it sounds racist - and to be clear, I don't think the secret sounded racist - then you should perhaps examine your own words instead of blaming someone else.

Not OP, but nah, in this case I think the secret maker should've spared a thought for the optics of the secret they made. I think they knew the secret was going to stir up shit, and if they didn't they should have. It's a pretty predictable response from this place.

The person who actually made the comment didn't seem aware of the "optics", why would anyone else know it'd result in wanky comments? And frankly, I don't think either the original comment or the secret made from the comment was racist. Just saying you hope a live action adaptation flops isn't racist. Other people assumed the OP wanted it to flop because the movies feature POC, but that's their interpretation. There's nothing about that in the comment or the secret.

I'm sorry you're leaving, but I do think it's good that someone cares so much to make secrets out of comments, be it out of wank, or determination to see this comm live on. I'm not sure how many secrets are being made these days, and it's good to see someone so enthused, even if it turns some people off.
I'll definitely second Case's dedication though, through thick and thin, Case has stayed strong. I'm honestly thankful to see this too!

Been a while since I've seen a good old fashioned flounce. Going by the comment thread that was cited, the secret maker basically took your comment nearly word for word and simply added images of the movies you were referring to. What "racist spin" did they add to it? It seems to me that you're pissed off about the wank in the comments assuming you had a racist motive for wanting those movies to flop, but how is that the secret maker's fault?
