IDK exactly who it was. My mom just told me she couldnt get it back in Dec of last year.

Contact her local social services department. They can probably get her some one on one help. She might need a doctor referral.

You can print the forms and checklists here. https://www.ssa.gov/applyfordisability/

It helps the fill them out before you go up there. Does she check all these?


-Are age 18 or older;
-Are not currently receiving benefits on your own Social Security record;
-Are unable to work because of a medical condition that is expected to last at least 12 months or result in death: and
-Have not been denied disability benefits in the last 60 days. If your application was recently denied for medical reasons, the Internet Appeal is a starting point to request a review of the medical determination we made.

This is just what I've heard, but in the US disability is hard to get without the help of a lawyer who specializes in that thing.

Eh, my father got it pretty easily without a lawyer. He just had help from the Social Security Office.

They always, ALWAYS reject the first time. You have to appeal. I know from experience with my wife. You might have to go to court, be ready to look into disability lawyers. They don't get paid unless you win and then only a percentage of the backpay.
