Hmm, I was thinking about this secret, and I personally can't think of a single conservative I've ever known who liked Star Trek. All those I've talked to about it called it a socialist fantasy. How strange, lol!

My dad's one. But he's growing less conservative by the day. He's never gonna be a socialist, though. He grew up on the original series. He's the one who got me into scifi in the first place. A lot of his conservative friends are into it too.

My parents were both super conservative but liked Star Trek. I remember seeing Wrath of Khan with them in the theaters, and I know we watched a couple of the movies on television. My mother has ended up becoming less conservative as she has grown. I'm not sure how my father reconciled his enjoyment of tons of sci-fi and fantasy with being as conservative as he was or if he would have become more liberal as he aged like my mom.

My dad is a huge Trek fan. He also reads Drudge report and sends me links from some place called red state.

So, yeah...

My uncle's Jehovah's Witness and politically conservative, he adores Star Trek (and Star Wars.) He's not super bright, tho, so I doubt he'd pick up on the politics of it.
