ngl, some of the secrets lately have been tl;dr. So I kind of skip them unless they really interest me.

I always skip all the Lord of the Rings secrets.

At least we've got secrets. Some weeks, when I can think of things, and I have time, I submit a bunch from whatever I'm watching or reading at the moment.

I ran through the secrets today and was just cringing at all the walls of text. Like... learn what linebreaks are, maybe?

None of these are mine. But sometimes I make some like these. I have a bunch of stuff to say. And it is hard to say it all while still making the image below visible at all sometimes.

I get this. It's something I struggle with too. My secrets are rarely super short. They always have, like, a context and aspects. I do try to keep them as short as I can, though.

Same, I haven't made secrets in a while and most of it is because I'm too damn long winded.

Sometimes people have loooong comments in the "secrets you're too lazy to make" threads and it's hard to fit all of their words in. I occasionally edit for length, but I'm reluctant to do this unless it's absolutely necessary because I don't want people to think I'm changing their secret too much.

This is nice, anon. I think it's better to keep as much as you can, for sure, even if maybe the secret would get a better reception if it were shorter.

The difference between a comment and a secret is that you can use pictures and formatting in a secret to help get a point across. In the comment, you're limited to text. In theory, a comment should always be longer than a secret based on the comment. In practice, if you're not able to summarize, don't make secrets out of comments that are longer than 60 words.

I've always tried to keep my secrets short and sweet, but there have been times where and I had considered addressing X in the secret but had decided it was making things way too long, but then the comments were all "BUT WHAT ABOUT X? HDU!"

Er... is that unusual? I always skip the secrets that don't interest me.
