I so agree with you!
And see: I'm slasher, I love slash, but, c'mon? I just hate Dean/Castiel. C'mon, guys, he's an angel, almost a sin. And... Whatever. I can't like the Dean/Castiel stuff. And yes, I love Sam/Ruby. Badly. I don't like much Dean/Ruby, but I live for Sam/Ruby. The only pairing that makes me write het.

I don't like Dean/Ruby as much, but I'll read it. Sam/Ruby is awesome. I once had a fic idea in my head where Ruby gets pregnant with a prophecized child who decide the fate of the war. In her ninth month of pregnancy, she bolts because she doesn't think Sam loves her or wants the baby. Ruby ends up being chased by demons and angels who want the baby, and goes into labor. Somebody told me it would be a bad!fic, so I gave up on the idea.

... And what I'm writing in this very moment is a Sam/Ruby PWP, so... haha But it's not a dark!fic, so, whatever.
But yes, you should write it. At least try to.
