Of course if we're talking about reasonable people that's true. Unfortunately, this is fandom, and "like" most frequently means "this character is a secret sweetie and just needs some good fantasy loving to be reformed."

Even in the normal, not bugfuck crazy fandom sense, saying the one "likes" Kylo Ren, carries the implication that he's just a dude one would like to have coffee with, and not the kind of toxic personality that would require saintly powers of psychological stability to tolerate. Generally we say we "like" the story instead. One can love the story's development of a complex villain without saying that they're "likable."

I think the most common sense in which fandom people "like" Kylo Ren is that they want to fuck his brains out, and we should be careful about drawing any broader conclusions than that.

Sure, shippers gonna ship. But that's not what the movies say. TLJ even has an authorial mouthpiece in the form of Luke Skywalker, saying "dude, that's fucked up."
