Re: what kinds of crafts do you do?
(Anonymous) 2019-09-14 03:14 am (UTC)(link)I’m decent at recycling thrift store stuff into costumes, though; I have a really complicated dress where 90% of the base fabric was thrift store finds, some of which I stripped and re-dyed or hand-painted, and half the trim was thrifted or bought on clearance or from the dollar store.
Re: what kinds of crafts do you do?
but don't sell yourself short! thrifting and then modifying is a skill and it sounds like you've totally made it something far more than most people who can't even be arsed to replace a button. I have learned over time that I suck at design and original ideas, so I always bow to those who can bring their own ideas to life, and even more to people who can visually deconstruct something they've found cheap and rebuild it into what they want it to be. I've been scratch-building so long that my modding muscles are weak and atrophied.
