If you want to write a comedy of culture clash, maybe learn a bit about *both* the cultures you're talking about first?
Brought to you by hp/anime crossovers where the anime character now attending Hogwarts is annoyed by the lack of fish and rice - even though fish is a key part of a lot of traditional British food (because, like... The British Isles are islands?) and they've had rice for a few centuries now. They even have edible seaweeds!
Unfamiliar dishes yes, unfamiliar flavours yes, but leave the melodrama out of it.

(also most Japanese people can use a knife and fork jsyk)

That's embarrassingly ignorant. I'll grant you, there's not as much variety of seafood in traditional British cuisine prepared in a wide variety of ways as there are in Japan, but there's no rice shortage.
