I love the Dark Crystal but all of the lead female gelflings look like my partner's ex (very skinny, petite, long flowing blonde hair) and it kinda makes me hate them a little. Especially Deet and Brea.

I prefer fics that deal with kakyoin being jotaro biggest "what if" than the "kakyoin lives AUs"

I don't know how to put this into words precisely. I can't stand slapped on diversity crap.

For me that would be things like reboot racial swaps, which are a total and utter cop out.

On the other hand, things like B99 where excellent characters are used to tell relevant and sometimes poignant stories about the world today - e.g. that episode where Terry gets arrested by a cop in his own neighbourhood) = totally fine.

Can we please have some GOOD and NEW stories and GOOD and NEW characters and make those diverse. FFS.

Astolat is an excellent fic writer. Except for her Harry Potter fics which are totally OOC.

If you want to write a comedy of culture clash, maybe learn a bit about *both* the cultures you're talking about first?
Brought to you by hp/anime crossovers where the anime character now attending Hogwarts is annoyed by the lack of fish and rice - even though fish is a key part of a lot of traditional British food (because, like... The British Isles are islands?) and they've had rice for a few centuries now. They even have edible seaweeds!
Unfamiliar dishes yes, unfamiliar flavours yes, but leave the melodrama out of it.

(also most Japanese people can use a knife and fork jsyk)

it really bothers me when a character has a prominent scar, mark or tattoo and it's not acknowledged or mentioned in fics (especially during sex scenes)

I really like drawfee but I skip the videos with karina in it. I think she's a great artist and is not that I don't like her , I just don't like her voice.

I ship Hobbs/Shaw, but it really bother me that they seem to want to recreate the Brian and Dom dynamic with them, to the point that Hobbs has now a romantic relation with Shaw's sister the same way that Brian had with Mia (Dom's sister).

I hate those sites like badwebcomics wiki and I wish I could say it was just because of how cruel they are to others or some noble reason. But really it's because I fear putting anything out there because of them.

I binge watched most of Carnival Row in a day, and the only pairing I ended up shipping (Imogen/Agreus, because I’m predictable as hell) felt like it could use at least twice as much development.

I’m sure part of it was that they were side characters, and part was due to fitting a murder mystery, political intrigue, war flashbacks, and two romances into eight episodes, but part of it was the timescale—minus flashbacks, the main action of the show felt like it took two weeks, tops.

Not much time for a bigot to go from “ew, fae cooties” to “my entire worldview was wrong, everyone I know, including my past self, is an asshole, and also I would like us to fuck against every flat surface in your house and then run away together.”

Thanks to fandom, a few movie/tv scenes, and a few fics, I've discovered a strange and creepy new kink of mine. For some reason, I find it unbelievably hot when sexy characters (villains mostly) are holding knives in their hands, especially if they are stroking said knife. WTF, self?

I finally remember where my long-haired guy thing started, and I'm super embarrassed about it. I had such a huge crush on Matt Camden from Seventh Heaven growing up. I can't even believe I watched and enjoyed that show, even before knowing what we now know about the father actor. But I was in love with Matt for years.

I feel bad because I find myself resenting the songs and things associated with my mom because they make me emotional. But it makes me feel guilty, resenting the things she loves. I wonder when I'll be at a point where everything that reminds me of her doesn't have me crying in the bathroom.

I'm so over how awful and performatively "woke" the western side of my fandom is, I've literally started learning Japanese to engage more with their side instead, where I have found warmth, welcoming, and like minds. I'm actually having fun in my fandom again.

I read and enjoy fic that has strict top/bottom roles when it comes to anal, but I can't stand it when it's applied to oral sex. Can't stand it. I don't care if it's realistic.

I always appreciate and pay attention to these threads, but it'd be a huge help if people specified what fandom they're talking about. Just dropping character names doesn't always make it obvious. If you don't specify what fandom, I'll do my best with image choice or just choose one that amuses me and hope for the best.



Just don't be like that one nonny who got mad at how *I* somehow made their secret "racist" by using their own words and images from movies they specifically cited in their comment. ;)

I think Taylor Swift did intend to stab Kanye in the back. But I kinda don't care.

He acted like they were cool, then called her up and asked for her blessing on a song in which he takes credit for her success, calls her a bitch, and talks about her like a sex object for him to fuck. I don't believe for a second that he cared about her blessing; I think he wanted to insult, belittle, and demean her publicly, and the phone call was just him rubbing it in her face that she couldn't stop him.

So yeah, she told him she was fine with it, and then shaded him publicly for being a sexist POS. He was two-faced; she responded in kind. Does anybody actually believe he would've changed the song if she'd said she wasn't cool with it? Because I sure don't.

I can't find a single Tony-centric track to put on my Peter/Tony fanmix. For some unfathomable reason, nobody's writing guilt-soaked songs about falling in love with a barely-legal teen they're supposed to care about platonically.

S!B - I want romantic songs for my ship, but nobody writes romantic songs that fit my ship, because my ship is too sketch.

B!S - All my Peter-centric songs are moony female pop jams. There is an Avril Lavigne track, and several by Michelle Branch. I am living for it. Someone please just kill me.

Awhile back, there was a prop/costume auction for my fandom, and I barely missed winning something from it.

Lately people have been posting about stuff they’ve won in secondary auctions by people who bought a lot of things from the first auction/apparently had inside sources for things never offered to the general public, that they bought to resell. Which, I’d rather one of a kind memorabilia went straight to fans rather than to middlemen who jack up prices, but okay.

My problem is with the people who are winning things from these secondary auctions/contacting the sellers directly to buy stuff. Multiple people have asked them who the sellers are, or when/where the auctions are, and have gotten either no answer, or more gushing about how awesome the things they’ve bought are and how they’re still waiting on more props/costumes to be listed.

Just admit you don’t want other fans competing with you to buy stuff. /bitter
