I'm not sure it's a double standard: it's just that some things have a bad reputation when associated with women and not if applied to men.

If we had good representation of female characters of every kind like we have for male ones people wouldn't be bothered by certain tropes applied to only one gender.

Exactly this. If you see a person constantly needing to be saved, for example, with a guy it's one thing but with a girl it's a stereotype we've seen enough of and don't need to keep seeing constantly. Not everything is 1:1. We're not all starting from the same place.
