They're not spending money on pixels, they're spending money on a hobby they enjoy -- or, in this case, more accurately, they're spending money ON YOU on a hobby YOU enjoy. Want to get pissed off because someone buys you paid time? Better keep in mind that under that logic, you should get pissed off whenever anybody gets you a little gift they think you'd like if it's not a Big Important Thing You Need. Sheesh.

128. I don't see why this is such a bad thing. ... and I also don't understand all the people I'm sure flipped out at you over this secret. The main reason people did stop with incestual relationships was because of how it fucked with genetics. Therefore, distant enough relatives (lol "kissing cousins") and closer relatives if both are male, or both are female, would not be a problem. However, even heterosexual incest wouldn't be a problem as long as pregnancy did not/could not result.

Here are some examples of things that I loathe but understand

- Twilight is popular because it's pretty much a insert-yourself-here book! You get to be swept up in the arms of a dazzling possesive vampire!

- Harry Potter is popular because it opens up a world beyond ours vividly in a way that really hasn't been seen before.

- CSI is popular because people like murder mysteries!

- Chuck is popular because ? I don't understand why people can like such an unoriginal, predictable, and boring show.

You're the one being narrow minded here. The only possible reason you could imagine us not understanding is if we're so close minded we couldn't fathom being in someone elses shoes.

Uhhhh, actually. You obviously can fathom being in someone else's shoes, but even right now, you're still pretty much stating your own opinions on why someone would like those things.

Twilight, Harry Potter, CSI, and Chuck are all popular for more than one reason. I doubt everyone that likes Twilight likes it because it's an "insert-yourself-here" book, though the ones that do have every right to like it for that reason. They may actually like the plot, or the characters, or the writing style, or go into reading about the relationship realizing that it's fucked up and enjoy it anyway in that regard. The reason you state is one of the main reasons so many people like Harry Potter, but other reasons may include being able to relate to the characters, or an actual interest in the plot more than its opening gimmick (opening up a world beyond our own in a new way). There are people who love CSI more for the characters than the murder mystery aspect, and obviously, the people who like Chuck do not find it to be unoriginal, predictable, and boring. Or maybe they do find it to be one or all of the above, but like it anyway, or like it for other reasons!

You might not be able to see why other people like something, but they obviously find something in it worth liking. Their reasoning may just mean that they disagree with you on some aspects of it! They don't find whatever-it-is to be unoriginal. They think it's exciting. They don't see the twists and turns. Or they do think it can drag and it's predictable, but the characters keep them tuning in/reading/what have you. Even if you can't put your finger on the reason, reasons exist.

Mostly I think secrets like this semi-bother me because it borders on saying "this is my opinion, which is right, so I can't understand all the wrong people!" And in the end, as I said, it doesn't actually matter if people like something that you dislike, or vice versa. People act like it's some huge important mystery and it's... really, really not.
