Seconding this. Shave or don't, whatever. But it's cosmetic and a preference, not "taking care of yourself."

I find shaving your body hair being equated with "taking care of yourself" much more disgusting than hairy chicks. It's basically common sense that having hairy legs isn't unhygienic, so all I'm getting from this is that the OP thinks it's a woman's duty to "take care of herself" in the sense of presenting herself in the mould of conventional beauty at all times or something, which pretty much makes me sick to my stomach.

My thought's exactly. I'd like to see the day men are expected to shave aswell. Frankly, I find leg hair just as unattractive on men as women.

It's reasonable to have an opinion on what sort of body hair (or lack thereof) is attractive to you, but why suggest that male hairlessness should become the de facto standard? I think it would be better to wish that men shouldn't feel embarrassed to shave or wax their body hair if they want to be smooth.

I agree. I simply feel that the same standards should be expected of both men and women, regardless. Women should not be expected to shave, and men should not feel embarrassed to do so either. My personal preference is my own.

Actually, it seems a lot of men in movies and TV are expected to wax their chests nowadays, which, besides the fact that I prefer men with a little chest hair, bugs me for the same reason that people say women should shave everything else.

What about armpits and the intercrural region? Shaving (or at least trimming) those areas can be well defended on hygienic grounds.

Actually, all hair does in those regions is make it a little more time consuming to keep hygienic. Is does not mean that if you have hair there you are automatically unhygienic.

Also, I'm completely in favor of men waxing the anal region. Especially ones that don't bother to wipe completely. I'm sick of seeing skid marks on guys underwear.
