The secret isn't about girls that shave. It's about COSPLAY and looking similar to your character. Don't shave all you want... just don't cosplay a hairless character, that's just stupid.

No. The secret says "when you are a girl and your legs and armpits are hairier than his, I will forever think less of you" and implies that not shaving is failing to "take care of yourself". It mentions the character being ruined for them only in passing. If it was just about looking similar to the character, I'd be much, much less offended.

Fandom Secrets = Not about fandom anymore.

If a secret that's posted on f!s addresses issues not explicitly related to fandom, that doesn't mean people can't discuss those issues in the comments thread o_O

Uh, what? The context is cosplay, yes, but the secret says what it says. It doesn't say "when you are a girl and your legs and armpits are hairier than his I will forver think less of you if you cosplay a hairless character". It just says the OP forever thinks less of hairy chicks. And even if that addendum did exist – you know, maybe they meant to add it and forgot, maybe it was implied, I could maybe buy that – the bit about taking care of yourself is still there, radiating disgusting misogyny. There is no way I can look at that that isn't offensive.

Then the OP needs to learn how to express hirself better. Because, hello, "taking care of yourself" != "looking similar to your character."

Pretty damn about chicks that don't shave to me. The way it was worded seems like the cosplay thing only brought it to OP's attention, rather than being the point -- that you shouldn't cosplay a hairless person if you aren't gonna shave.

What about a girl cosplaying a guy? A white person cosplaying an Asian character? Or, I've seen guys cosplay girls and not shave before.

I've seen guys cosplaying girls and not shaving their beards before! He even dyed the beard the pink. It was pretty awesome.
