I don't know how the Tony Stark movies are going to succeed without Tony Stark. Seems like a risk.

I feel like I should defend this, though it's kind of hard to, because I can't deny that there has been a lot of Tony Stark in the MCU Spider-Man movies. Still, there was a reason for this, and it didn't come out of nowhere (well, maybe in CA:CW it did). But do people really think this trend is going to continue, story-wise? Tony's dead, and now that Peter has dealt with the grief of losing him, there's no need to cast the man's shadow on any future Spider-Man plots.

Maybe I'm wrong and that's exactly what they will do. But I'm just saying that it makes no sense to do so at this point.

Personally, I do want Spider-Man to hang around the MCU for a while longer. I'd like to see him interact with more people, but as his own self and not someone following in anyone else's footsteps. Maybe I'm just optimistic.

Agreed. I facepalmed so hard when I found out Tony's gonna be in the Black Widow movie too because of course he fucking is, every MCU film needs to be an Iron Man sequel in disguise.

Probably because the MCU is a shared universe. Nobody bitches about other characters crossing over, but the character that kicked off the MCU and bitches be pulling their hair out in frustration.

DA
Crossing over is fine, but when they play a bigger role than the character the movie is supposed to be about, then things become a problem.
This is not an Avengers movie, they can acknowledge that other characters exist, but when the same exact character shows up as a leading role in every single movie that is not about them, or the group as a whole, people are allowed to be annoyed. You don't see Thor starring in every Spiderman, Capitan America, and Black Widow movie, throwing hammers into the works. It's always Tony, all the time. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

(Anonymous) 2019-10-05 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
This. Nobody complained about Falcon showing up in the Antman movie because it was /just/ a quick cameo with no bearing on the plot, whereas both of Spiderman's supposedly solo movies so far have had plots driven almost entirely by something Tony did.

it just depends on likes and dislikes. I like Tony Stark so I don't mind him being there. Some other MCU character that I shall not name? Hell no, I'd give it pass.

(Anonymous) 2019-10-05 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Guess what dumbass... Tony Stark is already dead.
But stay pressed I guess.

(Anonymous) 2019-10-05 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
....and all of Spider-man's angst is traditionally about Uncle Ben's death and guess what we've seen in the MCU?

I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PETER GOT THE GLASSES THAT CONTROL WEAPONS SATELLITES AND A FUCKING DRONE ARMY IF TONY WAS PRO-OVERSIGHT
