To be fair, I don't think Magneto has ever had a problem with mutants using their powers to defend themselves from the powers of other mutants. Given that his most frequent and powerful opponent is a telepath, him using a metal helmet to defend himself seems more pragmatism than prejudice to me. Telepathy is one of those powers where if you don't catch it the first time, you may not even realise you need a second chance. And Magneto's never been known for fighting by Queensbury rules.
