Going off and reporting a fic writer for doing something you don't like, specifically because you don't like it, is pretty much the definition of a tattle-tail. They could have easily have called a rat, just to add my two cents.

For some reason I figured that AO3 only began banning accounts recently, and this was the OP's reaction to that. Turns out AO3 has had rules against it for a while now.
I don't object to it either for the most part. Mostly I was just surprised someone would argue against calling it tattle-tailing.
