And don't forget how John's worst nightmare is Rodney being dead (Doppelganger). I am entirely convinced that Joe Flanagan is playing John as gay in his head. Thanks, Joe!

It's interesting that you say that, because I remember hearing that Joe mentioned at a con he did play Sheppard as if he 'was a bit in love with McKay'. I can't say this is true for certain, and I'm sure if Joe -did- say it a lot of it was for the lol's, but all the same...pretty awesome, right?

I didn't forget those moments, believe me. And there are so many others that prove that at the very least, the two of them have an extremely strong friendship with a deep sense of trust, affection, and loyalty. As it were I think it's a lot more than that. It's difficult to explain, but John being John and Rodney being Rodney...they don't just act the way they act towards each other with anyone. The relationship and feelings they share with each other are quite unique to their case. I think that if you told anyone about their history, without naming names or factoring gender in with the two characters, people would automatically assume there was something going on.

(The Shrine was just the last straw, so to speak. I've always tried to say 'you're just being a fangirl' but after that episode I truly did start to believe that these two characters did have stronger-than-friendship feelings for each other in canon. Like I said, mutual, but I've found John to always be a bit more obvious about his feelings for Rodney than Rodney has about his feelings for John, and for that reason this episode was an eye opener for me.)

Miller's Crossing pretty much erased ANY doubts that John loved Rodney. He talked a man into killing himself because his greatest fear is Rodney dying. Uh huh, that's pretty clear right there :)
