Ah, I usually look at BPAL to figure out my favorite characters' signature scents (which is at least a bit more affordable when I decide I gotta have it for myself!)-- but every once in a while I wind up with a scent headcanon that's out of my price range (or incompatible with my allergies, or there's a character who I think has a rotating selection of several...), so I know your pain.

But also, I'm just thrilled to see a secret about fragrance headcanons because it's one of those things I consider important that I don't often see people dig into! But if I'm going to write shippy fic, like... I gotta know what the characters smell like, so I can hit more senses when describing a hug or clothing theft...

I love this comment, anon! It's nice to know other people think about this kind of thing, too.

TBH, I don't really get to have associated perfumes for most of my faves, because I tend to feel that most of my faves aren't people who wear perfume. So I just have to content myself with imagining what smells they pick up from their daily activities. But when I do find a character who I think would wear a perfume, I'm always happy to choose one for them. :)

I gotta know what the characters smell like, so I can hit more senses when describing a hug or clothing theft...

I like the way you think, anon. :)
