It would bother me more if it weren't for the fact that there's always a wide range of quality in the bakers. The first three or four weeks (or sometimes more) are always about separating the wheat from the chaff. So, you know, if someone gets cast because the producers think they're pretty, OK. I don't think you can necessarily tell how good someone is before they get in the tent anyway.

And plus, there's people who aren't supposed to be "fit" who can't bake and get eliminate din the first few weeks. And there's people who are fit and are great bakers - you could easily have dismissed Ruby (the one from last year, not Ruby Tandoh) the first couple weeks of last season, and she ended up being a very good baker.

LOL, yes. Sometimes the chaff is glaringly obvious, and I'm not talking about good looks. Sure, Ruby was an absolute knock out, but it was clear from early on that she wasn't an idiot.
