I keep hearing that GRRM's worldbuilding is so wonderful and complex. The only thing I find vaguely interesting about it is how, in a world where the cycle of seasons is years long, absolutely nothing is different about nature.
It feels like everything evolved on Earth and was transplanted to Westeros (and then didn't all die in the first winter because... magic?)
