Favorite new Doctor / favorite old Doctor are separate categories in my mind. So I get that. And 4 and 13 are both great in very different ways.

Same here. I think it's perfectly acceptable to have a favourite Old/New Doctor as the overall look and feel of the show had obviously changed in the 26 years it was off air. I can definitely see why 13 would remind someone of 4 as well. Both are The Doctor, make sense to me that some of The Doctor's future incarnations would channel elements of the previous because regeneration isn't a complete reset button. After an initial disorientation the old memories etc are still there.

Same. Four is definitely my favourite Classic Who.
