I liked Tifa when I played the game as a kid, because whoo martial arts lady so strong and badass. Played the game as an adult and realized she's the opposite of strong and badass. Her unwillingness to take a stand against Cloud, for his own damn sake, because she's obsessed with wanting to bone him and make him live out her knight on a white horse fantasies not only enables Cloud to go further into his delirium, it endangers the whole group. Tifa had a few nice moments on occasion but her ultimate decision to leave the group that's making a last stand to, you know, SAVE THE WORLD so she can hang out with comatose Cloud because ~feelings~ was just the last straw for me.

B... Because she was going along with his delusion out of being happy someone else had fucking survived the fucking slaughter of her entire hometown, which she both witnessed and survived herself? She was scared of breaking down what was clearly keeping him together, and she was even the one who finally helped him figure out what actually happened.

Nice try, but I don't particularly ship anything in that game. Just can't stand Aerith, but that's something you rabid stans just can't accept, I know. I'd assume you're a delusional Cloud/Aerith shipper though, because why I'd need her to die just for "my" ship to be less in danger is a mystery considering there was no canon Cloud/Aerith romance.

nope, no ships either, at least not with any of the aforementioned. it’s just a curiosity that literally 99.9% of people who cheered aerith’s death were people who shipped cloud gay lol. i’m not even a stan, i just seriously side-eye anyone that can’t stand her because it’s either shipping-based or girls that ~aren’t like other girls~

The people I've encountered who either hated Aerith or Tifa were often het shippers who shipped Cloud with the "wrong" chick so... /shrug
The het shipper war was always the most annoying in that fandom. So I seriously side-eye people who claim that hating a female character can only be because someone ships the icky gay ships.

Nope, nice try as well but I'm not actually shipping anyone in particular in this game. You Cloud/Aerith and Cloud/Tifa shippers frothing at the mouth every time you think someone might ship the "rival" ship and fighting over which is more canon when neither is will always be pretty funny though.

I'm not excited for her stans to come out in force again tbh. I love Aerith (even though the poor girl is little more than a pretty plot device these days) but damn are her Tifa-hating stans the worst.
