Re: Inspired by 10: Do you believe in "Your Kink Is Not My Kink"?

Not really anymore. Lately it's become code for "how dare you question any kink." Sure, I don't think anyone should get fired or jailed for erotica, porn, or consensual sex. But in my lifetime there are some obvious trends in the popular kinks, which end up putting unrealistic expectations on real-life people.

So I think it's reasonable to ask, "hey, what the fuck is up with all this stepmom/stepsister, choking, cuck, and mock deception porn going around? Is it a good thing that we've gone from acceptable bushes to nearly mandatory universal waxing in a generation?"

I mean, fucking hell, the Katie Hill case is a classic example of a former unicorn hunter flipping and becoming abusive, something that's happened to many of my bi peers. Is it reasonable to say that I don't fucking trust straight unicorn hunters? Is it reasonable to say that I'm just sick of straight people preening about how getting off on my sexuality makes them progressive, when they're still culturally entitled to get nasty and abusive?

So no, I'm not going put kink into a box and lock it away as immune from criticism. And "safe, sane, and consensual" requires dealing honestly with the political baggage that come with our kinks. That includes mine as well as yours.
