Being obese is a health risk, but someone who is obese can absolutely be otherwise healthy - and someone who's obese and sick is not necessarily sick because they're obese. One of the major reasons fat activists push the idea of health at every size is because doctors will frequently take one look at a fat person and diagnose them with being fat without ordering any of the tests that would be ordered if a thin person came in complaining of the same symptoms.

Sure, they can for a little while and yes, not every illness stems from beign obese but our joints were not made for this. You can't sustain your health over a long period of time and there is just no way around it.
