This is me, too, and it ties in with only being able to ship villains with non-villains if the villain has some positive quality other than being powerful, brooding, and/or hot.

Whether they treat their minions/henchmen well, have creative hobbies they’re passionate about (that aren’t torture and murder), are kind to animals or people who pose no threat to them... that they have something to offer a partner that’s not just hard abs, angst about how no one understands why they’re driven to kill millions of people, and the ability to make planets go boom.
