I hear you brother.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
That's fair

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Too relatable. :(

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Me, too, OP.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Y'all should go call people losers and assholes and lazy fucks and tell them the sky is falling some more. That'll help for sure.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)

got any new material?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-16 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)

So, out of curiosity, which of Trump's policies have benefited you personally, and how? Because if none of them have and you're only supporting him out of spite, then you actually are the loser and asshole that you are accused of being and should probably just embrace it at this point instead of being all offended about it.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
*If the answer is that you're one of the war criminals that Trump pardoned yesterday, then you're still a loser and an asshole.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Not a supporter, not offended.

Just sad to watch you all dig your own grave.

Careful not to strain yourself with that reach.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Awww did someone hurt your feelings?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-19 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm shocked at the amount of wailing in the thread aside from your comment. And not shocked at the vitriol aimed at you for daring suggest it's not the worst thing in the entire history of the world, how dare you!!!
Not American, not my fight, but we've got the same hysteria here except it's the Blessed European Union and how dare anyone not worship it and long to be more and more under its glorious control!
And we've both got the extinction rebellion idiots gluing themselves to sustainable transport along with Her Saintliness Greta screaming there are 12 years left and unless everyone becomes vegan tomorrow we'll all die!!
Maybe if people calmed the hell down and tried for sensible nuanced discussions things could be less tribal but all I see is people doubling and calling anyone who disagrees with them a Nazi!

Fandom is also my number one choice of sand when I need to bury my head for a while.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Same here, OP.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Polling in my state has been very depressing. I totally get you, OP.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The same polling that said Hillary was going to win?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Trump narrowly led in the polls in my state before the election and then did win.

That's a completely legitimate fear tbh. If the Democrats put up Biden, we're doomed. It's gonna be another shitshow like putting up Hillary-- not because she was objectively the bad choice, but because there had been so much fire under the Bernie campaign that it felt to a lot of younger people like betrayal. Most either didn't vote or spite-voted for Trump. Same damn thing's gonna happen this time around, I'm almost sure of it.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckily for the rest of the world, Trump has spent his entire time in office destabilizing the US government at all levels and alienating its allies, so if Trump does get re-elected out of spite and the US continues its death-spiral, the collateral damage should be limited to North America.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-18 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Man, you really, really, really, really, really haven't paid attention to Syria and the Kurds. have you?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you need to disconnect from FB and Twitter. A lot of people do, in fact. At least for the next year.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
We're not doomed. This is ridiculous. Why is it so difficult for people to think probabilisticly and rationally about this? Trump does not have magical powers, OK? This is an election that he could either win or lose. Even with Biden, we're not doomed - I think Biden would be a slight favorite over Trump. Trump is very unpopular for a president, he barely won in 2016, and elections since then generally haven't gone well for the Republican Party.

Of course that doesn't mean he's guaranteed to lose either. But all this doom stuff, I don't get it. It's uncertain. That's how uncertainty works.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-17 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

(Though I'm honestly of the opinion that even if he wins, it's gonna suck so much more for him than it will for the rest of us. While he loses allies every day, women and minorities continue to be voted into office, and more places are turning blue. Like anon above me says, either a win or a loss is not guaranteed. But deciding we're already lost before the primaries are even here won't help keep him out of office.)
