That's just the Japanese pronunciation of Bolt, which is a cool name for a teenage ninja hero. It sounds weird for us foreigners, but it's a good name for the intended audience.

All the character names in both series are ridiculous.

Sakura and Sasuke are normal names.

Sasuke is the prototypical fictional ninja name. Not a normal Japanese name at all.

I'll give you Sakura, but I do think it was to give a juxtaposition between her delicate name and the toughness of Inner Sakura (that eventually is show outwardly as well).

Then you have Sarada which sounds like the japanese pronunciation of Salad. This is why everyone thought the names Boruto and Sarada were jokes until they weren't.

Sarada is another name for Saraswati, a Hindu goddess. There are a lot of Hindu references in Naruto.
