Yeah but OP's implication is friends NEVER EVER EVAAAAAR stay together.

That was not my implication. My implication is that friends don't ALWAYS stay together, and it's much less common than fandom thinks. I don't know when "exceptions" and "neither extreme is true" stopped existing in you guys' worlds, Jesus.
