I tooooootally agree. I love, love, love cozy mysteries and the Hallmark Murder Mystery and the holiday-themed variations on it. And the only real problem I ever have with it is sometimes I don't find the characters relatable or likable enough (they can be a bit bland and upper-middle-class-suburban in these kinds of stories) so fandom pastiches are even more excellent.

I'm know that's not what you mean, but now I wonder: do cozy mysteries exist for non-picturesque settings? Like, idk, an Attack the Block social housing setting?

hahahaha it's a good thought

I have a book called Murder for Christmas that has about a dozen or so of these and I read it every year. I'd love to see some fandom-oriented ones!

I never knew these were a thing, but now I know what I'm going to be watching this Christmas season!

I am also putting this on my read list! I love cozy mysteries and this looks good.

Have fun with the fic :D! Sounds like a cool idea for a story for your fandom.

As for that genre, it's not one I've had a chance to delve into much, but from what I know about it, I can totally get the appeal :). Your line about a murder not dampening a small town's Christmas cracked me up.

I'm getting so tired of this process of "Hey maybe the writing for Dany in the last season was not great" "WOW butthurt Dany stans!!! Literally fascists! If you were SMART like ME you'd know she was SO EVUL the WHOLE TIME but unfortunately you are all such smallbrain loser stans!!!!1"

Wow, oops, misfire. Sorry.
