Weirdly enough, my like of height differences usually manifests in making the more experienced man of the two the shorter one (in instances when there's no canonical heights, anyway). Even if only by a couple of inches. Is that weird?

I don't think that's weird! It can go either way for me. Though truth be told, I think all my slash pairings have had a discernible height difference in canon.
